The Datejust set the template that a lot of dress watches have since borrowed from: a fluted bezel, a cyclops lens over the date, and a dial simple enough to read at a glance. This one pairs a black dial with Oystersteel, the fluted bezel in solid 18k white gold. That cyclops lens was Rolexs own invention, added in the 1950s to magnify the date so it didnt disappear at arms length, and its stayed on nearly every Datejust since.
