The IRWIN® Record® No.4 Mechanic's Vice with 115mm (4.1/2in) jaw width offers increased capacity for larger components whilst remaining suitable for light to medium-duty applications. This size bridges the gap between smaller and larger vices, providing versatility for a wide range of workshop tasks. The body and sliding jaw are cast from close-grained grey iron and machined on all friction surfaces for smooth, reliable performance. Hardened steel jaws can be replaced when worn to maintain optimal grip, whilst the two-start rolled acme thread main screw delivers faster and smoother operation. Built-in safety features include a fused steel handle designed to bend before overstressing and a safety stop to prevent slide separation.
